The purpose of this course is to provide learners with an introduction to how projects are managed in the Government of Canada and provide learners with an awareness of the Policy on the Planning and Management of Investments and the Directive on the Management of Projects and Programmes.
It situates learners in the Government of Canada Project Management context by:
- providing them with the roles and responsibilities of project managers, stakeholders and other individuals involved in project management
- describing the key project management key assessment tools
- describing key project management concepts and terminology
- describing key competencies required to manage a project
- summarizing the phases of a project’s life cycle
