    As a public servant, do you know what your options are if you are a victim or a witness of workplace harassment and violence?

    Do you know what your role and responsibilities are as a manager, a supervisor, a health and safety committee member, a health and safety representative, a designated recipient or an employer representative?

    The case studies and complementary resources provided on this page aim to guide and support you in fulfilling your obligations regarding prevention of harassment and violence in the workplace.

  • You will be exposed to a variety of workplace conflict situations providing examples on how to prevent and address incidents of workplace harassment and violence.

    The following case studies include scenarios of racial discrimination, sexual harassment, homophobia, exclusion, mental health and violence that some learners may find upsetting. If you want to skip one or several case studies, you may always do so. If you need mental health support, don’t hesitate to contact your organization’s Employee Assistance Program. If you are in crisis, don’t wait to call 9-1-1.
